Southfield, MI based Intellectual Property law firm is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join our team.
Goal: The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the firm’s overall identity. The Marketing Manager will work to evaluate current efforts and recommend new initiatives to further build brand awareness. This includes identifying new sponsorship opportunities, coordinating events with attorneys, and assisting with the firm/attorney award nominations.

- Marketing Support: Event planning, Annual meeting coordination (e.g., INTA, IPO, AIPLA), manage content development and distribution, assist in the development/completion of firm surveys, and manage a calendar of events for BK attorneys
- Business Development Support: coordination and planning of firm events, research clients, assist in the preparation of RFPs, and attorney brand development and outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on building a reputation within the legal community and expand brand recognition within other areas of interest
- Identify new events to sponsor that fit within the firm’s overall marketing efforts
- Oversight of the firm’s social media pages (design/artwork, layout, review content, strategy)
- Track all membership dues, and seminar/event sponsorship requests and to ensure opportunities align with the overall direction of the firm
- Manage the firm’s social media pages (design/artwork, layout, review content)
- Manage external communication development through the firm’s website, dissemination to media outlets, and via email distribution channels
- Assist with annual event planning for firm-sponsored events
- Assist with the completion of annual nominations for a number of firm and attorney awards.
- Manage BK Community Outreach Initiatives [AB1]
- Manage the preparation of monthly Marketing Report for firm including business development opportunities, content creation suggestions, and social media analytics
- Track marketing efforts to ensure deadlines are met
- Manage initiatives and deadlines with key marketing partners and vendors
- Development of advertisement content and strategy to communicate the firm’s core values and messaging
- Track all membership dues, seminar/event sponsorship requests and to ensure opportunities align with the overall direction of the firm
- Maintenance of the firm’s CRM Systems
- Manage artwork for advertising sponsorships and other marketing material as needed (brochures, event invitations, event signage, etc.)
- Prepare and maintain attorney bios and assist attorneys with their individual branding
- Additional projects as needed
Position Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or communications. Degree/major in marketing is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience. Professional services, especially law firm experience, a plus
- Superior writing, editing and proofing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
